Yes, great, but where can you download the software ?
I mean, not just the patch. What's the point of posting a patch and
not the sw itself ?

Anyone can help ?

Thanks

Kudos! There should be a thousand comments here.
Thank you for your hard work!
I would love, I would pay even; for a slick marriage of rasterfarian and manga2ebook with a working conversion queue.

If one ever develops, put me on the mailing list.

Sometimes when converting manga, a picture will get kinda trashed. The picture seems to have a large part of the edges cut off. I think this only happens when using the smart rotate and trim feature, but I'm not really sure.

DasFool

Even when you're going to use rasterfarian (or another rasterizer), you should just use the full option set of manga2ebook. It cleans and prepare the image for rasterfarian by removing noise, enhancing sharpness, extra contrast, etc. But most importantly, with manga2ebook, you have better control on the cropping and removal of white borders (rasterfarian would be too aggresive and will always align the image to the left)

When using rasterfarian, you can save a lot on the rasterfarian-options then. All default options are good.

I'm going to release a new version of manga2ebook AND rasterfarian soon, so come back next week :)

Peter Mueller, thanks for the comments (although I don't really think those are issues, more like feature requests)

Let me answer them for you:
a) It doesn’t create multiple pdf (once per directory and CBR)
That's not what the program was intended to do. It was made to create a library/volume PDF which consists of multiple chapters. If you want to have a pdf per cbr, then you'd need to put the cbr in a seperate directory.

b) it doesn’t let me choose to create a pdf without any change to the pictures.
This is intentional, because the pictures have to fit in each page.

c) It doesn’t clear the resized and processed images
This is also intentional after the release of the revised version. Because often, I want to continue a series. If I get my hands on a new chapter, I only needs to process that chapter and still create a complete pdf, starting from chapter 1 (which are saved in the processed folder)

d) It doubles the number of pictures to process
That's a bug that should be fixed in the new version

e) We can’t find any information about the batch-features
I'll include some info in the next release, but basicly you just add a directory to the batch and then start when you're done adding.

f) We are missing some naming-possibility, like %dirname%, %date%, %numberOfPictures% etc

Is that really needed? I might add an option for that.

Playing around with this program before I get my sony prs-505. Most people suggest using rasterfarian after creating your pdf. Is there anything I should uncheck in this program if I'm going to use Rasterfarian afterwards? I mean, wouldn't it be bad to do some image processing and then have Rasterfarian process the image again?

Unfortunately, your second version has the following issues:
a) It doesn't create multiple pdf (once per directory and CBR)
b) it doesn't let me choose to create a pdf without any change to the pictures (just collect them to one pdf and rename the pdf to the foldername)
c) It doesn't clear the resized and processed images
d) It doubles the number of pictures to process (I have two *.CBR with a total of 60 pictures - 9 and 51. Your program shows 'converting 1 of 120' but stops at 60 of 120 .-)
e) We can't find any information about the batch-features (any readme?)
f) We are missing some naming-possibility, like %dirname%, %date%, %numberOfPictures% etc

Would be cool to hear some comments about this points...
BTW: Gooood idea!!
